1961 - 1977(from short pants to Showbands)

Where the journey began. The Blanchardstown Brass Band 1961
Alan's first band with friends Leslie Norris(R.I.P.), Ben Fagan and Shea Martin. They left an indelible mark on the music scene in Dublin.
First Showband. Heather and The Pines.
On to one of the more popular showbands "The Sahara".
In 1970 Alan was recuited by one of the busiest showbands of the time "The Victors". Not only were they a huge draw in Ireland they also toured extensively throughout Europe.

Finally Alan landed a spot with one of Ireland's top five showbands "Stage 2". He would front this band until his departure to Canada in 1977.
